Equipe Rapide SCC Challenge Cup #6 - Pennington Field, Bedford, TX. August 23, 2009

 

Fun event, good course, finished early even though we had quite a few folks and the weather wasn't too hot, can't ask for much more than that in late August in Texas!  The car ran great and I drove pretty good except for a few pesky cones that killed my best runs.  All and all, fun day, did pretty good on course, got a bunch of pics, got some in car video, and some MaxQData tracks.  Hopefully, I'll have some time soon to combine the in car videos with the MaxQData data using the cool software Sean Goodpasture created.

Even though I knew better, I got brave and tried using the camera on more manual settings.  The constantly changing cloud cover, the various colors and brightness' of the cars and the sun angle at various times of the day made it pretty tough to get it right.  Some of the pics came out great, others, well, not so much.  The exposures on some were off, but since I am not a pro and am not concerned with only posting my "best" shots, I did a bunch of post processing and uploaded several pics that most photographers wouldn't.  I figure a lot of folks are happy to get pics of their car in action, even if they are a bit dark or over-exposed.  Hopefully, with more experience with the new camera, I can be a bit more consistent on the shots.

There are 2236 pics @ 1300X863 as usual, I broke them up into 4 groups.  Click a thumbnail below to view each group.  Andy and I ran 1st and 2nd heat so I missed some from those heats and I was busy for about 1/2 the 3rd heat, so I missed some from that heat also.

I try to get pictures of as many cars as possible and/or things I find funny or interesting, I also experiment with different camera perspectives and multi-shot sequences. If I missed your car, it was not on purpose.  I get shots as I can while I am working my regular duties at the events and trying to race a car.  Also, I am not a professional photographer; I do this because I enjoy taking pictures and this is why I post the 1300X863 (and larger) versions free without any watermarks.  I now charge for larger resolution/formats of the pictures I take to help pay for the cost of the pictures/equipment and the site.
