Equipe Rapide SCC Challenge Cup #2 on April 20, 2008 at Mineral Wells, TX. Fun event and fun course. Turn out was light as there was a couple of other events going on at the same time. Kenny did a good job on the course, it was a modified version of a course I had designed back in '05. The weather was OK I guess, the wind wasn't much fun, but at least it wasn't cold. Mineral Wells was its usual gravel covered self. Andy's car did very well at the event, but some electrical and cooling issues forced us to cut short the runs. The car is coming along very nicely, Andy is quite determined to build a Nationally competitive EM car in his garage from the ground up! It should be fun to see how it does at the National Tour coming in early May to the Bus Lot at Texas Motor Speedway. Details for the event are here. Andy's brother Terry was visiting town and took a go at the roadster. He made a full compliment of runs, both regular and PAX in the 1st heat, while Andy and I ran in the 2nd heat. I only got 3 runs, but did pretty well as I managed to get all clean runs that were pretty quick. I managed to audit and get the final results out by the next day as usual, but it took a few extra days to get the pics posted. As seems the case recently, I was also pretty busy with various things during the event and didn't get to take many pics. There are 160 pics, some from both heats. Some of them came out pretty good, but the long distances at Mineral Wells make it tough. I've added a mobile version of the site.
